Yes, a document organiser for a baby. Sounds ludicrous, but trust me, it’s useful. Here’s how we came to buy one…
My husband and I hadn’t slept much after little Felix arrived on the scene, as you do when you’re a new parent.
The third morning of being home with our new baby, we had to take Felix to the health center for his heel prick test. When we got to the pediatrician’s clinic, we realised we’d forgotten Felix’s health record booklet.
“You did bring the baby, didn’t you?” The doctor asked us.
After that we decided it was time to get little folder for all of Felix’s official documents. He was so small, yet had so much paperwork!
- Birth certificate
- Social Security or National Insurance card
- Civil registry certificate
- Vaccination record
Depending on where you live and how you do things, your child may also have:
- A passport
- ID Card
- Private health insurance documents
And as time goes by, you might add to these any doctors notes you collect, prescriptions, school nurse visits and so on.
Thanks to our pediatrician’s sense of humour and our forgtfulness, I ended up discovering this VERY cute and useful TucTuc baby document folder, pictured here. It is currently only available in TucTuc stores in Spain, France and Portugal, but available to order online. It has pockets for everything from paperwork to cards to booklets:
It fits perfectly into a small changing bag:
It fastens with good quality velcro:
And it’s got a very cute koala bear on it:
This item is SO useful. Every time I’m at the health centre with Felix, other parents always ask me about it.
Check out TucTuc for shops in Spain, Portugal and France.

Felix was born on 18th March 2012 in Marbella, Spain. He was the cutest, squigiest little smurf we’d ever met. Here he is:
